Thermistor motor protection unit which interfaces directly to a PTC sensor to provide protection of motors, alternators, transformers, etc. The unit will trip if the nominal trip temperature for the sensor is exceeded.

 

The fault latching facility is incorporated which can be reset via the front panel membrane switch or opening contacts 7 & 8. A test facility to simulate fault conditions is also incorporated on the front panel membrane switch.

 

The ON and OFF times can be adjusted independently.

Description

Mode of Operations:

 

Under normal conditions the relay is energized. If one of the thermistors reaches nominal trip temperature the relay will de-energize. If the latch is connected between 8 & 9 the relay will only re-energize if the latch is opened or the front panel membranes which is pressed and the temperature fall sat least 5% below trip value.Under normal running conditions the front panel membranes can be pressed to imitate a trip condition. The relay will de-energize and re-energize after a set time period.

 

EXAMPLE :

 

A thermistor imbedded in the windings of a motor will reach the trip temperature to protect the motor from over heating.
